Apple Turnovers

This is a recipe from Christopher’s Brooks School cooking class. During 7th grade, Christopher (right - 1995) made these for us quite often (but as I recall did not make the glaze).

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Roll
One sheet puff pastry

into a rectangle and divide into 9 to 12 squares. Place on baking sheet.

Mix:

1 apple, peeled, cored and diced
3 T sugar
1 T flour
¼ t ground cinnamon
Pinch of ground nutmeg

Divide apple filling among dough squares. Fold over edges of squares to form triangles and seal with a fork.

Bake for 12 minutes at 375 degrees F

When pastry has cooled, drizzle on a glaze made of:

¼ c Confectioners’ sugar
2 t water [or cider or orange juice]
